Waste factor is not padding — it covers cuts, bad planks, and the row you trim at the wall. A straight lay usually needs about 10%; diagonal or herringbone needs more because every row starts with an angle cut.

This preset is a 14 by 16 ft space with 10% waste. Buy from one dye lot in one trip when you can; mixed lots can show as a colour shift at the seams.
